Larissa R. Ramos of Brazil, the reigning Miss Earth 2009, was in Guam to be a part of Guam's Miss Earth Pageant on June 9, 2010.
Larissa Ribeiro Ramos was the winner of Miss Terra Brasil 2009 and represented Brazil in the 2009 edition the international Miss Earth in the Philippines where she was later crowned Miss Earth 2009, becoming the 2nd Brazilian to win the title. After winning the Miss Earth crown in November 2009, Ramos participated in various events and travelled to Ouro Preto, a world heritage site designated by UNESCO, in the state of Minas Gerais, and in March 2010, she was invited to São Paulo for the Formula Indy car race and participated in the world famous Rio Carnival.
On April 10, 2010, Ramos returned to the Philippines and served as one of the judges in the final competition of Miss Philippines Earth 2010, from were she traveled to Vietnam with Carousel Productions team to attend the contract signing ceremony of Vietnam hosting of the Miss Earth 2010 pageant. On April 30, 2010, Ramos and Miss Earth-Air Sandra Seifert were the special guests in the Discovery Dash organized by Discovery Channel at SM Mall of Asia, Bay City, Pasay City, Philippines.The 10th edition of Miss Earth pageant, Miss Earth 2010, will be held in Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang, Vietnam on December 4, 2010. More than 80 contestants from various countries and territories will compete for the title that Larissa Ramos will crown her successor. The Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and other environmental organizations.
