Nihita Biswas, 22, claims to be the wife of serial killer Charles Sobhraj, 66, who is also known as ‘The Serpent’ and ‘The Bikini Killer’, and talked to the press during a press conference at Mirmire Media Club, Maitighar, Kathmandu, Nepal, on Monday July 28, 2008. Sobhraj allegedly has claimed the lives of 12+ western women backpackers during 1975-1976 in Thailand, Nepal, India and Malaysia, and several unconfirmed murder cases before he was apprehended in July 1976 by the Indian Police. He was released from India to France after he spent over 20 years in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
Biswas held the press conference to defend Sobhraj and alleged the Nepali prison authorities of misbehavior against Sobhraj, who is currently serving a life sentence in Nepal for the 1975 murders of US national Connie Joe Bronzich and Canadian born tourist Laurent Armand Carriere. Sobhraj is also married to Chantal, who is living in France and is believed to have a daughter who was born in Mumbai in 1970.
